Sport Shot returns to Airway Lanes in Portage, MI

The PBA Sport Shot experience returns to Airway Lanes and Family Fun Center January 2010. It will be held Wednesday nights at 9:30pm starting January 6th and ending March 31st hosted by Josh Powers. Bowlers will play 4 games across 8 lanes. Every session will be cut down to the top 5 with step ladder finals every night. Nightly payouts are estimated at over $200 and pointw will be awarded every night. End of season points pay out estimated at $500*!! No commitment necessary, just drop in and sign up. Only $20 per week.

On Friday October 30, Tommy Campbell struck big and won $1,200 in the strike pot! The strike pot is a progressive game that costs bowlers who wish to enter $1 every time they bowl. Bowlers must strike in certain frames in all three games. There are two divisions to enter based off the bowlers average. Bowlers averaging 180 and below are in the lower bracket and bowlers averaging 181 and above are in the upper bracket. Tommy Campbell bowled in the upper bracket and had to score strikes in frames 2, 6, and 10 in game 1; 3, 8, 10, 11 in game 2; and 1, 7, 10, 11, 12 in game 3! The pot had been building since last years bowling season.

Gryphon Place of Kalamazoo is hosting it’s 20th Annual Fundraiser to help prevent suicide prevention and domestic violence. The bowl-a-thon is scheduled for Halloween day, October 31st, 2009 at Airway Lanes in Portage, Michigan. This will be a No-Tap style tournament comprised of 5 bowlers on a team. No-Tap means that if you knock down all nine (9) pins with the first ball of any fram, it counts as a strike (as if you knocked down all ten pins). The goal for each team is to raise $375 as a team. In the Halloween Spirit there will be a costume contest for the best costume both individual and team. Airway Lanes is helping this fundraiser by collecting money from October 19th until Friday, October 30th. In addition, all money raised on October 24th and 25th will be matched by Airway Lanes Family Fun Center. Come out to Airway Lanes Fun Center in Portage, Michigan to support this great organization.
