Round 1 of Karaoke Contest Eliminations at Airway Lanes in Portage, MI

The first round of eliminations kicked off Wednesday October 28 with a bang. Thirty two contestants came out to show off their skills and entertain the crowd. People sang everything from country, to R&B, oldies, and even one Cartman impression of “Come Sail Away”. A few of the contestants arrived in the spirit of Halloween coming dressed up as Cher, a fireman, and a Playboy Bunny. In the end not every one could make it through to the next round. Based off a secret score from the judges, the contest is down to 26. Congratulations to all who made it through to Round 2 being held on Wednesday November 4 at 9:00pm. Don’t forget to reserve a table for your group! Space is limited and goes quickly.

Karaoke contest wraps up qualifying rounds at Airway Lanes in Portage, MI

After three qualifying rounds of karaoke, we have our final list of singers. Elimination rounds begin October 28, 2009 at 9:00pm in Alley Oops lounge inside Airway Lanes and Family Fun Center. There are a total of 40 singers who qualified throughout the three qualifying rounds held in weeks prior. Contestant may sing any song they wish to try and impress the judges in order to move on to the next round of elimination and get one step closer to winning the $500 first place prize. With Halloween coming up this weekend, costumes are welcome and encouraged.

We had 10 contestant qualify after the first round on Wednesday, October 7. There are still 2 weeks left to qualify before elimination rounds begin. The next 2 rounds will be on Wednesday October 14 and 21. The contest is being held in Alley Oops lounge inside Airway Lanes Family Fun Center. DJ Tali spins the hottest beats between singers for an all together fun and exciting night! Contestants can sing any song they wish, but never the same song twice. It’s only $5 to enter. First place prize is $500! We hope to hear you soon!
